TRUCKS: Norm Benning To Run A Henderson Truck At Talladega

by Brock Beard / LASTCAR.info Editor-in-Chief

Norm Benning will enter the Love’s RV Stop 250 at Talladega Superspeedway on October 4th, 2024. He will do so in a truck both built and prepared by Henderson Motorsports, who with Parker Kligerman won at Talladega in 2017.

Benning has had the seat fitted, and the truck - which will carry his #6 - is being prepared at the Henderson shop. He thanks Don Henderson, Tom Clavette, and Chris Carrier for what he declared in January to be “the best opportunity I’ve ever had.”

Benning is disappointed that sponsorship came together about a week too late to enter the truck in Daytona, where he showed impressive speed in practice last year. But the extra time will allow Benning to properly prepare the truck for a strong run – and perhaps a historic victory.

Sponsoring Benning this fall will be Middle Department Inspection Agency (MDIA), marking their third year of sponsoring the #6. Benning extends his well wishes to Glen Beaver, CEO of MDIA, who is currently recovering from an illness.

Also joining is an anonymous donor who, by sponsoring Benning, intends to promote up-and-coming drivers at the Pennsylvania Motor Speedway. This season, Benning will mentor drivers at the half-mile dirt track, and will also compete in some late model races.

Off the track, Benning has 13,000 followers on social media, and was recently featured in a video by popular YouTuber Stapleton42, which reached over 86,000 views in just three months.

While Benning has enough sponsorship to race, more sponsors are always appreciated – and this year, there is added incentive. Last season, Circle B Diecast produced 1:24-scale diecast of Benning’s #6 for the first time. The results far exceeded their expectations: hoping to sell 50, they have so far sold 518. Benning appreciates everyone who “completed their collection” with his diecast.

Because of this, Circle B plans to produce 1:24-scale diecast of Benning’s Talladega truck once the design has been finalized. Interested sponsors can contact Norm at normbenning84@yahoo.com.
