Mariah Boudrieau finished last in Saturday’s Colorado 150 at Colorado National Speedway as her No. 77 REX MD / All Phase Construction / Wallace Sig Toyota completed 58 of 60 laps.
The finish came in Boudrieau’s 6th career West Series start.
A Colorado native, Boudrieau has spent the last several years competing at her home track in NASCAR’s Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series. She scored her first late model win at CNS in August of last year. While competing locally, Boudrieau has also made sporadic starts with Joe Nava’s Performance P-1 Motorsports ARCA West program. She made her series debut at her home track in 2021, finishing 13th, and backed it up with another 13th-place run at the following race at Irwindale. Her third and final start of 2021 came at the Las Vegas Bullring, an event that featured a series-record five female drivers in a single West Series race.
After running a one-off at Las Vegas in 2023, Boudrieau returned to Nava’s team last month at Tucson, just missing out on her first ARCA West top ten with a career-best 11th-place finish. On Saturday, the series returned to Boudrieau’s home track, and the Colorado driver found herself not far behind David Smith, both two laps behind the leaders when the caution was displayed due to inclement weather.
Despite the race being only 40% complete, ARCA officials made the decision to call the race. Per The Third Turn, “the race was declared official per the ARCA Menards Series rulebook, Section 1-6 A., which references extraordinary circumstances which can end a race before the halfway mark.” The decision resulted in what is believed to be the shortest West Series race since 1968, running just 22.5 miles before being called.
Following Boudrieau and Smith up the running order was Holly Clark, making her West Series debut for Strike Mamba Racing with sponsorship from a local Subway franchise. Clark was battling for ninth place when the caution fell - Eric Rhead ultimately won the battle for position and received the free pass, leaving him as the last car on the lead lap and locking up a career-best finish. Rounding out the Bottom Five was Clark’s teammate, Rookie of the Year contender Blake Lothian, whose eighth-place result also marked a new career-best in the series.
At the front of the field, Jake Bollman scored the 100th West Series victory for Bill McAnally Racing, fittingly doing so while driving a paint scheme commemorating the 100th anniversary of the team’s longtime sponsor, NAPA Auto Parts. Kyle Keller placed second while Trevor Huddleston rounded out the top three despite dropping to the rear of the grid on the start.
